Move, Week 3

WEEK THREE. Consolidation. Some quite substantial changes in the lab today. Best of all, the server rack has now been completely reinstalled, and all servers survived the move! All crates have been unpacked, and the spare tables have been evicted. The rest of the week is about small final adjustments to instruments, as they are being signed off one by one. On Thursday, the Bruker UltrafleXtreme TOFTOF will be delivered. That's the last instrument in place, and Monday and Tuesday the following week is the final step, when the glass partition separating the instrument and wet lab areas will be installed. We all agreed that large sheets (= walls) of glass were not optimally compatible with the movement of several tonnes of instrumentation.

Friday: the glass has been delayed a week 8-(. Ultraflex pumping down nicely (see the photos - what a beast!). TSQ condemned. Velos very unwell. Mixed week really. Network seems fine. And, at least half the group back in the lab doing experiments. Less than three weeks! We are feeling very pleased with ourselves!

Pretty much at the end of the photo-blog. Just a few pics of the glass walls and the obscure manifestations to come (what, you've never heard of them?). Normal service resumed next week.
