Teaching
I have taught at every level of undergraduate and postgraduate study. I regularly teach undergraduate classes on the history of philosophy, epistemology, and philodophical problems. I co-teach a postgraduate class on topics related to my research and another class on philosophy and social change. I have lectured on a wide range of topics including ethics, history of philosophy (early modern, British empiricism, Mill, de Beauvoir, Arendt), meta-ethics, philosophy of language and philosophy of science. While I like teaching topics that are related to my research, I often find that teaching other topics, even ones that are very distant from my own research, is more rewarding. (My students don't seem to mind either).
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). My teaching practice is informed by pedagogical research and best practices. I have also conducted my own pedagogical research as part of my postgraduate teaching qualification that led to my fellowship of the HEA.
