RHUL was a founding member of the John Adams Institute (JAI) together with Oxford University and the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). Central to the mission of the JAI is the training of accelerator physicists at PhD level. This includes world-leading efforts in the developments of laser wire scanners for high energy particle accelerators as well as advanced simulation of accelerator beam lines, including secondary particle production and transport.
The group has been involved in many research and training programs on national and international level and has been successfully collaborating with a number of the oPAC partners in the past.
