About us

The optimization of the performance of any Particle ACcelerator (oPAC) was the goal of this network within the FP7 Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) scheme.

With a project budget of 6M€, oPAC was one of the largest projects ever funded by the EU within the Marie Curie ITN scheme.

The project has enabled close collaboration between machine designers, beam instrumentation specialists, as well as code developers and has successfully trained 23 Fellows. The Fellows have built a very remarkable skills set which will be an excellent basis for their future careers.

The more than 30 oPAC project partners, including universities, research centres and private companies, continue to organize international training events for the wider accelerator research community and actively promote research collaboration.
