Ignite is a series of speedy presentations. Presenters get 20 slides, which automatically advance every 15 seconds. The result is a fast and fun presentation which lasts just 5 minutes. Ignite events take place all over the world and recently it was held in Liverpool.

LA3NET Fellow Alex Alexandrova took the challenge to give an Ignite talk about particle accelerators and their applications:

"Do you know of any particle accelerators? Maybe CERN? Did you know that there are more than 30,000 accelerators around the world! It's a bit of an unexpected number, isn't it? Would you like to know what they are used for? What kind of cool things are done with them around the world? I am here to talk about it and to tell you everything you would like to know about particle accelerators in our society and how beneficial they are."
