We encounter lasers every day of our life in machines from CD players to supermarket scanners in construction and to increase the accuracy of high precision medical operations... the list goes on and includes applications at the forefront of science and engineering. In this professionally produced video the Marie Curie fellows Thomas Hofmann , Irene Martini, Tom Day Goodacre and Matthieu Veinhard from LA³NET describe their work on the ways lasers are used in different projects at CERN. This includes explanations of the research of these four fellows on beam diagnosics, photoinjection of electrons and radioactive beams.
