Partner news: GANIL makes nuclear physics accessible to the public

As part of the 2012 French Science Festival ("Fête de la Science") GANIL-SPIRAL2 shared a 100 m2 booth with the neighbouring lab LPC to present research activities on Nuclear Physics. About 30 GANIL-SPIRAL2 staff tended the booth at the Village des sciences de Caen which received over 10,000 visitors. A video and games were used to make nuclear physics accessible to all ages and demonstrations of vacuum effects, radioactivity and optics were held. In parallel, there is an exhibition dedicated to Physics in Caen until January 2013. GANIL has contributed to this exhibition that is focused on the "two infinities". After January, this exhibition will move to other venues around Normandy. More information...
