Further Information about the surgical preparation methods survey

This study is being carried out by James Morland, a 3rd year veterinary student, who is supervised by Helen Williams who is employed by the University of Liverpool.

The aim of the project is to gather information on the surgical preparation methods used by veterinary surgeons when preparing a cow for flank surgery in the farm environment and how they aim for sterility.

Although there is research to guide best practice for surgical preparation in the human field and more limited information regarding veterinary surgery carried out in an operating theatre there is little information regarding bovine surgery carried out on a farm. The answers to this survey will be used to generate information which can be used for future prospective studies.

Completion of this survey is voluntary. No personal data is collected other than your email address for the purpose of entrance into the prize draw, you do not have to provide this information to complete the survey.

As responses are downloaded separately from email addresses you will not be able to withdraw your answers after 7 days of completing the survey.

How will the data I provide be used?

No personal data will be made available to 3rd parties.  All data will be stored securely on a password-protected computer.

We are hoping to publish the results of the survey in a research journal. A summary of the results will be available on this webpage.
