Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.
Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".
Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.
Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.
This workshop is spilt into two halves. The first 45 minutes is an introduction to the Curriculum 2021 Hallmark of Research-Connected Teaching. At the end of the 45 minute session participants will be able to:
- Express the purpose and nature of research connected teaching and be able to translate its significance for course design to their respective educational disciplinary contexts.
- Communicate the significance of research connected teaching as a course design principle to peers within their subject area.
Participants may then choose to stay for the remainder of the workshop which will be an interactive practical session where participants will, using their own module or programme specification, develop an updated or revised programme/ module specification using research connected teaching as a curriculum design principle. At the end of this participants will be able to:
- Critically evaluate, select and apply appropriate forms of research connected teaching to their current programme or module specification
If participants chose to stay for the second part of the workshop they will need to bring a programme specification and/ or module specification/handbook for a programme they are involved in the delivery of.
Participants will undertake a series of activities during the second part of the workshop; the outcome of which will be an updated or revised version of their own programme/ module specification using research connected teaching as a curriculum design principle.
