  • Suitable for: Open to all IACD staff who have three or more years’ experience of teaching in higher education. All IACD academic staff new to teaching, and staff who wish to pursue an academic qualification in learning and teaching. The University of Liverpool Teaching Recognition and Accreditation (ULTRA) Framework has been developed to ensure that all those who teach at the University have the opportunity to engage in effective Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and gain recognition for high quality teaching. https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/eddev/ultra-cpd/ https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/media/livacuk/cll/eddev-files/ultra-docs/ULTRA_Guidance_For_Staff_no_appendix.pdf The Framework meets the standards set in the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework and it has been accredited by the Higher Education Academy. This means that University of Liverpool staff can apply for professional recognition of their learning and teaching through ULTRA, and achieve HEA Fellowship at the same time. Who is eligible The ULTRA framework is available to staff who have three or more years’ experience of teaching in higher education. All academic staff new to teaching, and staff who wish to pursue an academic qualification in learning and teaching should undertake one of Liverpool's accredited programmes in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

Speakers:Christos Petichakis, Marina Anderson and Gabriella Czanner. Must be attended by all IACD academic staff (including clinical staff) who do not yet have a recognised teaching qualification ie. FHEA, SFHEA, PFEA, CPS, PGCert and expect to be still in post by 2020. IACD staff currently in the process of studying for the CPS or PGCert are exempt, although any staff who wish to share their experiences of studying for these qualifications are welcome to along.

This workshop is compulsory for all IACD staff without a teaching qualification and should already be in your diaries.
Getting recognised teaching qualifications for all IACD staff is an important KPI for Strategy 2026 and is also imperative in light of our recent TEF results.

IACD staff who have the CPS or PGCert and do not yet have SFHEA but are interested in applying for it are also welcome to attend.
