The last few years have seen a tremendous growth in staff teaching and researching using quantitative methods in politics and international relations, due in part to the Q-step initiatives and the knock-on effects it has had throughout the discipline. We hope that this will be an opportunity for those involved in teaching quantitative methods in politics and international relations to meet one another and discuss challenges and opportunities going forward. The feedback and discussions from this workshop will help inform our activities going forward.
The workshop will focus on discussing and presenting techniques for Embedding Quantitative Methods in Politics Modules. The following speakers will present their experiences in embedding QM: Nicholas Allen (Royal Holloway), Mark Brown (Manchester), Gidon Cohen (Durham), Brian Fogarty (Glasgow), Maarija Luhiste (Newcastle) and Laura Sudulich (Kent).
There are travel bursaries available for postgraduate students. We ask that any postgraduate student interested in attending write 100 words explaining why attendance at the workshop would benefit their professional development. The opportunity to do so is included as part of the registration form, given below.
