Focus Groups – SOCI516
Instructor: Professor Jude Robinson
This module will help students to design, plan and carry out focus group discussions.
Using case studies to illustrate the application of focus groups to research particular issues, students will gain understandings of the theory, practicalities and ethics of using this method to elicit data, and how to prepare and analyse these data. Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of verbal and non-verbal interaction.
This module will combine lectures and discussions with practical exercises within the group, as well as discussions about the wider literature.
THIS COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED. IT WILL BE REPEATED AGAIN IN THE 2017/18 PROGRAMME. SIGN-UP TO OUR MAILING LIST TO BE THE FIRST TO HEAR ABOUT UPCOMING EVENTS.
