Book Launch - Fat Activism: A Radical Social Movement

Friday 17th June 2016, 6.30pm-8.30pm

Venue: The Bluecoat Gallery, School Lane, Liverpool, L1 3BX

Book Launch and Discussion Event with Dr Charlotte Cooper

DaDaFest and The University of Liverpool's engage@liverpool were delighted to present the Liverpool book launch of this significant and original work by author, psychotherapist, para-academic and founding proponent of Fat Studies, Charlotte Cooper.

Fat Activism: A Radical Social Movement explores the history of fat activism and explains why it is important. It is a rare insider’s view of fat people speaking about their lives and politics on their own terms. It is part of a new wave of accessible, accountable and rigorous work emerging through Research Justice and the Para-Academy. This is the book you have been waiting for.

The event tied in with a programme of work focusing on Fat Activism that will take place during DaDaFest International 2016, taking place from 18 November to 3 December.
