Hannah-Marie Lockett, President of the Chemistry Society presents the Potts Medal to Dr John Milton

The Potts Medal, named in honour of distinguished chemist Harold Edwin Potts (BSc Chemistry 1906, MSc 1907), was first awarded in 1933 to Professor Roberts. The winner is chosen every year by members of ChemSoc.

ChemSoc and the Chemistry department hosted the annual Potts medal ceremony on 11th April 2018.

This year the Potts Medal Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chemistry was awarded to Dr John Milton (BSc Hons Chemistry 1988, PhD 1991).

Dr Milton received his medal from the President of ChemSoc, Hannah-Marie Lockett and gave a lecture entitled "DNA sequencing and synthesis in the 21st century".
