CEDS has been awarded “OUTSTANDING” by the OfS.

The department of CEDS, based in the Education Directorate and led by Susan Canning, has recently been inspected by the Office for Students for the delivery, management and assessment of the End Point Assessment of the MSc Apprenticeship in Advanced Clinical Practice.

CEDS have educational experts in the pedagogical underpinning of assessment practice, curriculum design and the delivery of high-quality, employer-focused education. The recent inspection by the Office for Students highlighted the department’s strengths in governance, academic rigour, and learner support, resulting in an “OUTSTANDING” rating. This recognition affirms the department’s leadership in shaping effective, evidence-informed assessment strategies and its pivotal role in advancing clinical education through apprenticeship pathways.
