About

Since graduating from Aberdeen University with a Joint Honours in Microbiology and Genetics in 1996, I have worked my whole career as some form of technician supporting research.
Firstly for 5 years at the Rowett Research Institute in Aberdeen as a research technician, then in 2002 I came to Liverpool to work in the Obesity Biology Group as a research technician and lab manager.
In 2010 I moved to a core technical manager role in The Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease, becoming Technical Lead in 2015 and helped in the design of, and managed the move into, the William Henry Duncan Building.
Since 2019 I have been Technical Manager for the technical team in the WHD Building supporting the research of the Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences.
