Research

My research primarily involves the use of a Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) based global computable general equilibrium (CGE) model. I utilise GAMS software to conduct policy simulations exploring various scenarios, including trade liberalisation and labour migration. This also extends to modelling the impact of workers' remittances on their home economies. Furthermore, I provide training in applied CGE modelling as part of the CGEMOD team: http://www.cgemod.org.uk/

In terms of pedagogical research, I am particularly interested in addressing awarding gaps in Higher Education. A project I worked on focused on developing study support strategies tailored to international students, with the aim of reducing these attainment differences. This built upon a successful two-year 'Developing Educational Excellence' Project application, specifically designed to address awarding gaps between BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) and White students. This work involved exploring various interventions to foster a more equitable learning environment and improve academic outcomes for all student groups.
