Mrs Claire Crumbleholme

About

I lead our body donation programme and provide oversight of departmental administration, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across all our operations. Working closely with academics, demonstrators and technicians, I coordinate comprehensive administrative systems that align with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) regulations and university policies.
As the Designated Person for Quality Management, I oversee our quality assurance framework, managing compliance with HTA licensing standards and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This includes maintaining robust governance systems, coordinating internal audits, and ensuring our processes meet the rigorous standards expected in anatomical education and research.
I have the privilege of being the first point of contact for those considering body donation for anatomy teaching. When people ask about my work, I always speak first of the extraordinary individuals who choose to make this generous gift to medical education and research. Their selfless decision to donate helps train the next generation of healthcare professionals, ultimately saving and improving countless lives.
My role encompasses both the technical precision required for regulatory compliance and the compassionate support needed for donor families during what can be a difficult time. I ensure our consent processes are thorough and respectful.
It is an honour to be part of the Human Anatomy Resource Centre team, where we all carry out our work with the utmost diligence, dignity and respect that our donors and their families deserve.
