Bringing Everyone Forward for Sustainable and Equitable Development

To celebrate the 8th International Day of Women and Girls in Science on the 11th of February 2023 we want to invite everyone to a showcase of some of the fantastic contributions of female researchers in the school on February 16th.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science was established by United Nations to “promote the full and equal participation of women and girls in education, training, employment and decision-making processes in the sciences, eliminate all discrimination against women, including in the field of education and employment.” The theme this year focuses on the role of Women and Girls and Since in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event will consist of talks from 4 outstanding early career researchers: Marita O’Sullivan, Lucy Walters, Francesca Greenwell and Cara Hawkins. They will speak about their research as it relates to SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy). After the talks, there will opportunity to network over tea and coffee.
