About
Dipanjan is an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology. He first joined the department in 2019 as part of his ESRC funded Masters and PhD research studentship and completed his PhD in Sociology in 2025. Drawing on a background in Computer Science and social research methods, his doctoral research studied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning work ethnomethodologically, examining how such work actually gets done and what is involved in doing it. His wider research interests include Science and Technology Studies (STS), algorithm studies, human-computer interaction (HCI), and ethnomethodology.
