oPAC Coordinator Prof. Carsten Welsch, oPAC Fellows Michele Carla, Laura Torino, Meghan McAteer, Pavel Maslov, Michal Jarosz, Xiangcheng Chen, Hector Garcia, Emilia Cruz, Konstantin Kruchinin and Xavier Nuel Gavaldà and oPAC Project Manager Rita Galan attended IPAC in Dresden last week.

Newest oPAC Fellow Hector Garcia visited the oPAC stand at IPAC getting to know the oPAC community. oPAC Fellow Michele Carla, awarded among the two JUAS Best 2014 Students and Emilia Cruz Alaniz, supported by the 2014 Student Grant Programme, presented their posters twice at IPAC 14, once during the special student poster session, organised on Sunday 15th June, and again during the "normal" poster sessions. Their work is compiled together with other students into a special abstracts brochure.

With dozen’s of Posters presentations including a summary of the research advances presented by Prof. Carsten Welsch "Optimization of Accelerators and Light Sources within oPAC" and a multitude of networking events IPAC Conference was the perfect occasion to disseminate the oPAC project and meet new contacts in the field.

Rita Galan from the EU T.E.A.M. was on hand throughout at the project’s industry booth to showcase oPAC, describing the project and answering questions from a constant stream of delegates. Material disseminated included copies of papers the Fellows have published in journals, the project brochure and flyers for future events. The opportunity for networking was fully exploited and in addition to the conference events the oPAC Fellows were brought together with those from LA³NET for a social evening meal.
