oPAC Kickoff Meeting

The oPAC Kickoff Meeting was held in Liverpool, UK, on February 8th-10th2012. The event was organised by the University of Liverpool.
Over 30 participants attended the 3 day meeting which opened in the evening of February 8th with a Welcome Reception at the Liverpool Hilton Hotel.

The project brings together 22 institutions from around the world, including major research centres such as CERN (Switzerland) and Soleil (France), universities including Royal Holloway University of London (UK) and the University of Seville (Spain), as well a large number of industry partners, such as CIVIDEC (Austria), CST (Germany) and COSYLAB (Slovenia).

Kickoff Meeting

Professor Carsten Welsch, the project coordinator, started the meeting in the morning of February 9th with a short welcome and introduction and lead through the following days. During the next two days, an introduction to the Marie Curie Actions rules and regulations, project finances and reporting, recruitment strategy, election of the Steering Committee, discussion of all projects, including the definition of individual career development plans and future training events were all on the busy agenda.

The main objectives of the kickoff meeting were to officially launch the oPAC project, bring together all partners and discuss the first steps of the project.
