Outdoor studying just got an upgrade

University Quadrangle outdoor space

Grab your notes, your laptop, and your sunnies because studying doesn’t have to mean staying indoors.

Our Network Services team has boosted external Wi-Fi coverage across campus. That means better connectivity and more study spots!

1. Quadrangle

Students sitting in and chatting in the University Quadrangle

Tucked between the School of Engineering and the School of Health Sciences, the Quadrangle is the perfect sun trap. Catch rays all afternoon while you watch lecture recordings on the benches, or grab a blanket and lie on the grass.

2. Materials Innovation Factory (MIF)

Seating outside the Materials and Innovations Factory building

Mindmap at the MIF! Stretch your legs and find the MIF at the end of the running track, with benches that catch the sun best earlier in the day.

Bonus: the solar powered loungers provide charging points too!

3. School of Health Sciences garden

Top up your vitamin D in the School of Health Sciences garden. The blossom trees offer the perfect shady spot to block out our busy campus and focus.

4. Guild outdoor seating area

University of Liverpool Guild of Students garden space

Grab some food while you read a paper. The benches outside the Sphinx now have Wi-Fi coverage, so you can transition seamlessly from studying to socialising without having to move an inch.

5. Harold Cohen benches

Benches outside Harold Cohen Library

Already set up in the Harold Cohen but need a little fresh air? Relocate quickly and easily to the outdoor study seating between the library and the Victoria Gallery & Museum to keep your revision going without interruption.

6. Eleanor Rathbone

Students using the benches outside the Eleanor Rathbone building

You can’t recline in the library like you can on the sun loungers outside Eleanor Rathbone. Pop on the SPF and spellcheck your essay with ease and comfort.

Have you studied in any of these spots our Network Services team have hooked up with eduroam access? We’d love to hear what you think! Let us know @LivUniIT on Instagram and IT Services on LinkedIn
