I am a Professor of Zoology and Head of Department of Evolution, Ecology and Behaviour.
I am interested in understanding the biology of parasitic nematode worms. Work we are currently doing is to (i) understand the genetic basis of parasitism in the nematode Strongyloides, (ii) investigate the behavioural and immunological factors that control the assembly of the gut microbiome of mice, and (iii) study the evolution of diversity of dauer larva formation in the free-living nematode C. elegans.
