The module aims to give students a final-year "capstone" experience in performance, with formative assessments throughout the year, and a summative assessment at the end of first semester, leading to a major performance event at the end of the second. Students will craft their performance techniques to a higher level and should be working towards a professional standard. In this way, the module aims to support students wishing to go on to related postgraduate courses (performance/directing) or otherwise launch into a life involving music performance of whatever variety.

Module content will depend partly on the student's specialism and also on the combination of students in the group. One-to-one lessons will be with a specialist tutor in the relevant area. Large group sessions may cover topics such as ensemble communication, stagecraft, writing programme notes, reflective development, analysis for performance and rehearsal strategies and techniques, and may also involve peer-review of performance. Students will also develop promotional materials that form the basis of a press package or portfolio, as well as writing biography and programme notes to accompany their recital.

Notes: Workshop sessions give students an opportunity to try out what they have been practising. Student will share own performances with the rest of the year group for peer review and feedback.

The majority of teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on-campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience.
