Aims |

To further develop the student’s recording skills through the introduction of stereo and studio recording techniques. |
Learning Outcomes |

(LO1) The student will be able to successfully make studio recordings. |

(LO2) The student will be able to make timing and tuning adjustments to audio files using the relevant software tools and plug-ins. |

(LO3) The student will be able to record and mix a large-scale project to a standard suitable to this level of study. |

(LO4) The student will be able to identify and solve technical problems that exist within sound recordings. |

Syllabus |
|
Topics include: Stereo recording including use of stereo microphone techniques. Audio editing techniques, including: comping, pitch correction, audio quantisation, Melodyne. Advanced Mixing techniques for a large multitrack project. Mastering formats for online streaming platforms. |
Teaching and Learning Strategies |
|
Teaching Method 1 - Lecture Teaching Method 2 - Practical Teaching Method 3 – Seminars The majority of teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on-campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience. |
