Aims |

Provide students with an introduction to promotion, marketing and distribution practices within contemporary music industries. |

Syllabus |

Topics will include: contemporary music industries promotion, marketing and distribution practices; developing professional practice and networks; retail environments; audio (and audio-visual) cultures and contexts. |

Teaching Method 1 - Lecture Teaching Method 2 - Seminar Schedule directed student hours: 24 lecture, 12 seminar Unscheduled directed student hours: 114 Self-directed learning: Self-directed learning hours are spent undertaking class reading and preparing project materials. Students will have an opportunity to complete practical work through the album release assessment and then have an opportunity to reflect on their professional practice through the second assessment.
