Aims |

To lay a foundation for the Mathematics required by Science Students who have A-level mathematics.. To assist students in acquiring the skills necessary to use the mathematics developed in the module. |
Learning Outcomes |

have a good working knowlege of differential and integral calculus;

be familiar with some of the elementary functions common in applied mathematics and science. | |
have an introductory knowledge of functions of several variables |

be able to manipulate complex numbers and use them t o solve simple problems involving fractional powers; |

have an introductory knowledge of series |

have a good working knowledge of simple problems involving probability |

have an introductory knowledge of vector algebra |
