Aims

To lay a foundation for the Mathematics required by Science Students who have A-level mathematics..

To assist students in acquiring the skills necessary to use the mathematics developed in the module.


Learning Outcomes

  have a good working knowlege of differential and integral calculus;

     

be familiar with some of the elementary functions common in applied mathematics and science.

have an introductory knowledge of functions of several variables

be able to manipulate complex numbers and use them t o solve simple problems involving fractional powers;

have an introductory knowledge of series

have a good working knowledge of simple problems involving probability

have an introductory knowledge of vector algebra
