Aims

To provide knowledge and understanding of financial reporting procedures and the rules which govern financial reporting disclosure, recognition, presentation and measurement;

To develop knowledge and skills in financial statement analysis, including financial statement relationships, to enable performance of a fundamental analysis of a company’s performance thereby facilitating equity or fixed income security valuation in other modules.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Lectures x 49 hours
Lectures will be full days in order to cover the wide range of material relevant to this module. Lectures will be interactive and participative. Students will be required to attempt questions within the lectures and feedback on those questions will be given.
