We are excited to welcome Dr April Lawson who has now started her PhD developing EVSNET.

April graduated from the University of Bristol and also gained an intercalated degree in Pathology and Microbiology. She has worked in equine ambulatory practice and has completed a hospital internship at Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic. April then undertook a 3-year residency in Equine Internal Medicine at the University of Liverpool finishing in July 2020. During her residency, she has also been awarded with a Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice and has graduated from a Master’s Degree. April started a PhD at the University of Liverpool in September 2020 in the development of an Equine Veterinary Surveillance Network for the UK Equine Population (EVSNET).

April said ‘I am enthusiastic to be a part of the development of EVSNET. I believe this progressive equine surveillance system will be a powerful tool which is directly relevant to equine practice and it has the potential to truly impact equine health and welfare in a positive and meaningful way.’

If you are interested in inputting into the development of EVSNET and/or contributing data, please contact April and the EVSNET team at evsnet@liverpool.ac.uk.
