A purpose-built facility for clinical based research. The Centre
houses dedicated clinical examination rooms and clinical
investigation laboratories with vision testing, electrodiagnostic and
imaging suites. A wide range of commercial and externally funded
clinical trials are conducted as part of its research programmes.
The Centre has particular expertise in the areas of refractive surgery
age-related macular degeneration, ocular oncology, diabetic
retinopathy, retinal structure and function, and visual motor function.
Culture & Creativity Research Network

An interdisciplinary research grouping of staff and students
engaged with questions concerning the nature and value of creativity
with specific reference to art, culture, innovation and wellbeing.
Since its inception in 2010, the network has successfully built up
its research capacity by promoting interdisciplinary knowledge
exchange and collaboration. It has established itself as an
information hub via an evolving website and mailing list; nurtured
relationships with a variety of the University’s cultural partners; and
facilitated and supported a number of research events both within
and outside of the University.

A multidisciplinary research centre with a core focus on the
relationships between Europe and other regions of the world.
The Centre strives to promote these ties by developing research and
organising events that highlight Europe’s relations with the wider
world and issues that span the global-European interface.
CR-UK Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit

A Cancer Research UK-funded centre. Through its advisory board
it has extensive NHS representation from all research-active
clinicians in the general, acute and specialist NHS trusts in the
region. The Unit has experience in running numerous cancer trials
including trials relating to pancreatic cancer (ESPAC-4, Telovac,
ESPAC-T plus, EUROPAC-2), uveal melanoma (ITEM), head and
neck cancer (HOPON), and follicular lymphoma (PACIFICO).

the University of Liverpool and National Museums Liverpool.
It promotes study and research in the political, social, economic,
intellectual, and cultural life of the global 18th century across
disciplines and departments at the University of Liverpool.

Clinical Trials Research Centre

A centre of excellence in clinical trial design, management and
analysis. Its expertise and experience is accessed by both the
public and private sectors, and it is one of only a small number
of units in the UK awarded Full Clinical Research Collaboration
registration status.
The Centre incorporates the Medicines for Children Research
Network’s Clinical Trials Unit, the Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit,
the Epilepsy Trials Unit and other groups in infection, oral health,
obstetrics and gynaecology.
It offers a full range of clinical trial services, including feasibility
assessments, trial costings, coordination with trial sites and relevant
clinical research networks. Centre staff can also manage relevant
approvals procedures and trial monitoring.
