Autonomous Systems Architectures

Autonomous Systems are an emerging technology with high potential value to the UK.  This is true across Sectors but the aerospace community are already heavily involved in the development of such systems; from remotely piloted vehicles for aerial photography to more autonomous vehicles for both civil and military search and surveillance applications.

Our work

Through the projects below, we are involved with academics and industry in work in this area on

  • stimulating the supply chain for mission management applications for autonomous vehicles
  • developing tools and techniques to provide virtual certification evidence for autonomous aerial vehicles,
  • developing technologies for personal aerial vehicles, and
  • assessing the efficacy of the use of autonomous unmanned vehicles in harsh operating environments.
