Welcome from the Director of Development and Alumni Relations

As a result of significant investment, over the next five years we will be recruiting several key new positions to the team that will take us through an exciting period of growth, leading up to our 150th Anniversary in 2031.

The University of Liverpool is the original ‘red brick’, founded in 1881 thanks to philanthropy, and has been transforming lives through an ever-evolving portfolio of academic programmes, an ongoing commitment to widening participation in higher education and an impressive range of internationally acclaimed, life-changing research.

It is a privilege to work closely with world-leading experts and senior leaders across the University to support their important work through our philanthropic activity. Whether it be through attracting students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their potential, accelerating ground-breaking medical research, or creating opportunities for scientific advances needed to deliver a sustainable future for our planet, the projects we support have a profound and lasting global impact. The University of Liverpool is an ambitious institution that does not sit still, based in a passionate city with innovation, people and culture at its heart.

New members to the team will be sitting at the heart of our Development & Alumni Relations Team (DART), a team that I am proud to lead and one that is bursting with potential to do great things.

A supportive and friendly team, we have huge ambitions and are driven to transform the world, the lives of our students and our city, through our efforts.

We want you to help us realise these ambitions. You will be curious, skilled at building long lasting relationships and excited to work in a dynamic, collaborative, ambitious and growing team.

We're excited about the opportunities that presents to engage and grow our global community of alumni and supporters.

Our Development & Alumni Relations Team is on an exciting journey, buoyed by this recent investment. We hope to attract a diverse group of colleagues into our inclusive team to represent the student body we support, the alumni constituency we engage with and the city in which we serve.

If you share our passion for creating change and want to work amongst inspirational colleagues, in a fantastic city, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

I can guarantee you will receive a warm Liverpool welcome along with all the tools, guidance and encouragement we can offer to help you succeed.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Development and Alumni Relations team here at the University of Liverpool.

Suzie Thompson
Director of Development and Alumni Relations
