Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Impact in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool. This role involves responsibility for the Faculty’s research and impact strategy together with organisation and coordination of Faculty developments for underpinning technology and infrastructure. He is also a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals NHS Trust. Malcolm has an extensive research interest in ageing and frailty and has published over 200 original scientific papers. He has previously been Head of the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease (2010-15) and Director of the MRC-Arthritis Research UK Centre for Integrated Research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA), a UK Centre of Excellence. He has substantial research links with the University of Michigan and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation funded through a joint progam-project grant from the US National Institute on Aging (NIH).
