How I learned to stop worrying and love Plan S

10am Taylor Room, Sydney Jones Library

You may have heard whispers about Plan S from colleagues. You may have read hysterical over-reactions in emails from publishers who think the sky is falling. You may think Plan S is a once in a generation opportunity to take back control of the means of academic production.

But what exactly is Plan S, really? In this brief introduction you’ll learn what Plan S is and what it isn’t, and in the process cover ground such as retention of rights in your academic work, why funders are taking a stronger role in the distribution of outputs, and how national initiatives can help achieve the aim of greater freedom to access academic publications.
