Funding and how to apply

The DClinPsychol course at the University of Liverpool is currently an NHS-funded programme. Trainees are employed by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust as trainee clinical psychologists and receive a salary for the duration of the three-year training period. Course fees across the programme are covered by Health Education England North.

There is a strong demand for places on the programme - in the last few years, we have received up to 25 applications per place - around 500 applications in total.

Applicants should have a strong academic/research skillset, relevant clinical experience and the personal attributes required to be a compassionate and skilled clinical psychologist.

Applicants should have a good first degree and Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) from the British Psychological Society, as well as some clinically relevant experience.

You will be required to undergo health screening and criminal record checks, and also must be eligible to work in the UK.

Updates on future funding arrangements can be found on the Clearing House website.

You can apply for this course via the Clearing House for Postgraduate Courses in Clinical Psychology.
