The purpose of the Liverpool Psychosis Research Group (LPRG) is to research the following three areas, in collaboration with users and providers of mental health services:
- The psycho-social causes of psychotic experiences, such as hearing voices and having unusual beliefs.
- The psychological and biological mediators of the relationships between adverse life events/circumstances and psychotic experiences.
- Ways to develop and improve mental health treatments, services and primary prevention programmes.
Our members publish widely on psychosis, contribute towards the Psychosis Interest Seminar Series and run cross institutional research projects geared towards making a difference to those affected by psychosis.
