I have been supervising doctoral students on the EdD programme since 2017 and have acted as a PhD viva examiner for several years. I have over twenty-five years of experience in research and teaching in higher education, having worked across a range of European universities.
My expertise lies in higher education pedagogy, doctoral supervision, and professional development and learning. My research focuses on how staff and students engage in teaching and learning in higher education, with particular attention to the strategies adopted by institutions, departments, and individual educators to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and supervision across different modes of delivery, including face-to-face, blended, hybrid and distance education.
More recently, my work has involved funded research projects on microcredentials and on the use of artificial intelligence to support teaching and learning in higher education.
I am a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.
