Special Issue of Instruments on Diagnostics for Beam and Patient Monitoring released

Published on

A special issue of the journal Instruments has been published based on the work presented at the 2nd OMA Topical Workshop, “Diagnostics for Beam and Patient Monitoring”. This workshop took place at CERN in June 2018 and was attended by over 50 experts, from both within the OMA network as well as external participants, in charged particle beam diagnostics, control system development, and patient imaging. Technologies for non-invasive beam imaging were presented, as well as innovations based on prompt gamma imaging and 4D patient monitoring.

The journal has been peer-reviewed by the OMA steering committee, with high quality contributions.

The next Topical Workshop organised by OMA is on the subject of Medical Accelerator Design and Diagnostics, to be held 11th-12th December at GSI in Germany. Contributing speakers will include experts in medical accelerator technology as well as OMA fellows from two work packages, “Beam Imaging and Diagnostics” and “Facility Design and Optimization”.
