The University of Liverpool (UoL) is a member of Innovate UK’s KTN Microbiome Innovation Network (formerly Specialist Interest Group) that aims to accelerate the commercialisation of microbiome-based products and services in the UK and create a vibrant community by connecting industry and academia.

The main purpose of the network is to develop a proactive, self-sustaining microbiome community in the UK to raise the visibility of the UK’s world leading microbiome science and enable translation of this science to the benefit of the academic institutions, start-ups, SMEs, larger established companies that operate here and to society at large. The scope of this Innovation Network covers all microbiomes, especially those connected to human health & wellbeing, animal health & nutrition and agri-food.

They have recently launched a Microbiome Strategic Roadmap which includes UoL research projects and reviews the landscape of microbiome science and innovation within the UK. With this strategic document, they hope to raise the visibility of the UK’s world leading microbiome science and enable translation of this science to benefit academic institutions, start-ups, SMEs and larger established companies.

You can join in the conversation by becoming a part of the KTN’sMicrobiome LinkedIn group and sign up here for the mailing list for the Microbiome Innovation Network. This will give you regular updates on Funding Opportunities; EventsNews and Programmes.
