The Technician Commitment is a university and research institution initiative, led by a steering group of sector bodies, with support from the Science Council and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Technicians Make It Happen campaign. The Commitment aims to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians working in higher education and research, across all disciplines.
Key members of the Institute of Integrative Biology sit on the The University of Liverpool's Technician Commitment Steering Group. The Steering Group is responsible for creating initiatives and ensuring that they are actioned.
Our Institute's work not only impacts the technicians who work for us: our work on equality challenges facing technicians was included in The Technician Commitment's One Year In Report. It highlighted how our regional and national partnerships and innovations are ensuring positive change for the technical community across the sector.
We continue to support our thriving community of technicians. You can read about the work we have done around the commitment themes in our Self-Assessment and Action Plan.
