There will be an Open day for prospective Independent Research Fellows (IRFs) at the Institute on 4 June 2019. Candidates that are accepted to attend will be able to visit relevant academic departments, chat with relevant staff members, and explore the opportunities that an IRF hosted within IIB has available to them. Within IIB, we pride ourselves on our collegiality, peer review procedures and mentoring that improve our own grant success rates. Many of our staff have had fellowships and/or sat on fellowship selection panels. Therefore, part of the day will also be providing some general advice with regard to writing and presenting a successful fellowship applications. The day itself will run from 11am – 5pm and will include talks, tours, and 1:1 mentoring sessions. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, IIB will cover the travel costs of invited participants.
If you are interested in attending the Open Day, please send a short academic CV and an expression of interest to Dr Stew Plaistow, Prof. Caroline Dart, or Prof. Jay Hinton (Institute Fellowship mentors) before 22 May 2019. All accepted participants will be notified by e-mail shortly after the closing date.
