Having recently completed my Advanced Biological Sciences MSc, I have taken up a role as a research technician in the Rocha Lab. My appointment will see me continue investigations into the interplay between the oxygen sensing enzymes (PHDs) and the cell cycle, with particular focus on their context in renal cancers.
Throughout the duration of my BSc and MSc at the University of Liverpool (2015-2019), I have developed an affinity for a plethora of biological fields. Notably genetics, oncology and cell physiology/signalling. Specifically, my current interests focus heavily on how low oxygen tensions (hypoxia), can alter not only gene transcription but, post-translational mechanisms in the regulation of the cell cycle.
