Partner with us
The Institute of Integrative Biology (IIB) works in collaboration with a wide range of partners to derive the greatest possible impact from our world-class research. We are proud of the broad portfolio of successful partnerships we have across the public and private sector and are keen to expand upon this. Examples of how you might partner with us include:
Industrial R&D collaboration
Joint ventures between industry and academia are a powerful way of exploiting basic research discoveries and opening up new commercial opportunities. If you are thinking about exploring new avenues for your company through the intellectual rigour of early stage research then talk with us about how we may exploit co-funding opportunities.
Contract Research and Consultancy
Through the unique combination of our world class facilities and staff expertise, we offer a range of consultancy and research services to SMEs, NGOs and multi-national clients. Our Shared Research Facilities operate a commercial service enabling access to state of the art technology and supporting expertise at competitive rates.
Training and CPD
The Institute provides many opportunities for workforce development, for example through our postgraduate programmes such as a PhD or MRes. We partner with companies and other organisations to co-support postgraduate study through iCASE studentships and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. We are also keen to engage with companies and organisations who may be able to provide our research students with professional placements in a range of environments outside academia to support their research development and employment opportunities.
We work closely with non-governmental partners including charities and health services providers to develop strategic initiatives and tackle some of the world's biggest problems. If your organisation's goals align with our research strategy then we will be keen to develop ways of working with you.
Our students and staff like to share their enthusiasm for science with members of the public. We are involved in a range of activities with schools, charities, museums, café scientifiques and are always open to new ideas.
We are keen to maintain contact, personal and professional, with our alumni. Successful alumni partnerships have included conference and seminar reciprocal visits along with mentoring for current students. More information is available on our Alumni page.
Press and Media
Our staff have a range of expertise covering a large proportion of the biological sciences. (See our research themes and staff profile pages for details). We work regularly with the media to share our science and provide expert evidence-based commentary on the news. Contact us directly or via our Press Office.
Business Gateway is a dedicated department that can help your organisation with accessing our knowledge, expertise and skills. By understanding your needs, we can develop creative solutions, technologies, strategies, applications, products or skills that meet your objectives.
