About

Personal Statement

I am a biologist whose research focusses on fundamental questions on the themes of reproduction and life-history. I primarily use the Drosophila model, and link fitness with mechanisms by combining evolutionary and behavioural ecology with genetics, molecular biology and ‘omics. In particular my recent and current research takes quantitative proteomic and other mass spec approaches to explore adaptive and non- adaptive plasticity in reproductive phenotypes. I'm particularly interested in the role of reproductive proteins in mediating competition and conflict, and how these processes are impacted by environmental factors and ageing.

If you're interested in applying for a PhD position or a post-doctoral fellowship please contact me to discuss opportunities.
