This module familiarises students with some of the main issues, theories and arguments in the existentialist movement from thinkers such as Nietzsche, Sartre, de Beauvoir and Fanon. Taking this module will enhance your abilities to read challenging philosophical texts in a critical manner. The module is taught by lecture (1 hour per week) and seminar (1 hour per week). Assessment is via an exam (comprising 50% of the module mark) and a presentation portfolio (50%).
