This module aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the main theories developed in corporate finance and financial accounting literature. The module covers a selection of important advanced research topics in corporate finance and accounting theory. Students will develop their critical awareness by understanding how theory develops through selected aspects of corporate finance and financial accounting. Topics covered include: managerial incentives, capital structure, cash holdings and liquidity management, payout policy, M&A, conflicts of interest in accounting, economic consequences of accounting choices and regulation in accounting.
