This unique full-time, 12-month programme provides multidisciplinary research training on the musculoskeletal system as a whole in the context of ageing. The training has a strong focus on employability and topics range from basic science to clinical aspects, from in vitro to in vivo models, and from the latest advances in the assessment of the musculoskeletal system to lifestyle interventions.

The programme is a collaborative, blended-learning, experience. It employs active learning and authentic assessment CIMA MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageinge.g. mock MRC grant proposals, to develop research and employability skills. Many of our graduates move onto PhDs but others persue, or continue, careers in a variety of professions including medicine, veterinary science, physiotherapy, dentistryApply for MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageing

    Undergraduate Employability Skills

I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA and have a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in HE . As a consequence of my interest in learning I have been involved in developing innovative approaches to learning and especially active-learning and employability skills. I developed a highly praised skills module and was invited to speak about this novel Key Skills Tutorial Program at the Recording Achievement and Key Skills, Sharing the Learning: Connecting Quality, Practice and Policy. CVCP Conference, London, May 2000. I am currently involved in developing and updating this module to meet advances in elearning and current employer requirements.
