Personal Statement

My research interests include the design and development of novel biomimetic materials for applications in repairing the cornea and retina of the eye. I am particularly interested in hydrogel synthesis and preparation via physical, chemical or irradiation crosslinking. Hydrogels are 3D networks mainly composed of water and mimic physiological tissue environment.
