Complexes of Ln³⁺ with aminopolycarboxylate ligands

These complexes all have high thermodynamic stability and can be prepared easily in aqueous solution. Gd complexes with DTPA,  DOTA and related ligands are used as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging where it is essential that they have high stability.
